P Day November 1, 2013

Hola Familia!

Okay wow i have a lot to tell you in like no time so i will try and see if i can cover anything. I am in Spain..WHAT! I was in a tri companionship when I came out here with Hermana Boyer who is from Holiday Utah that is the girl you saw with me at the airport and Hermana Shelton which is the girl I kind of told you guys about, I met her on facebook and she is from Highland and went to Lone Peak. Our district is awesome we are the only 3 sisters going to Spain and Hermana Boyer is actually going to Barcelona. All of my teachers are from spain and mostly from Madrid, they hardly speak any English so that’s is really hard. Let me see we have fun tradition here every p day we get to go through the Madrid temple and oh my gosh. I have to say it is the most beautiful temple I have ever seen. When it was being built the king did not want it to be built or anything like that. Pres Hinckley convinced him and said this wouldn´t be like any other building of worship it will be a palace. It certainly is everything in it has to be from spain so basically everything is marble and perfect. On Saturday we go to the huge beautiful park, like central park but in Madrid. We contact people give away BOMS and pass along cards. It is really big and beautiful and it used to be a courtyard for a king long long ago. My first week me and Hermana Shelton the first guy we talked to we placed a book of Mormon. I didn´t say much but I prayed that my testimony and the spirit would be felt through her words. On Sunday we go down to the steps of the temple and sing for everyone and anyone. That is my favorite and it is awesome! My MTC presidents are heaven sent they are the best and I wouldn´t of survive without them. The food here is.. good but questionable. You don´t ask questions you just eat. Fact you can live on bread and nutella and fruit for every meal. We have physical actually everyday and we play futbol sometimes. Honestly I have only played a once since I have been here but I gave it a try the other day and literally I tried playing and made a goal! It was the best and all the elders were pretty stoked for me. The elders here are the best of the best. They are all babies only being 18 but man they are all solid. There are only 43 missionary here so you get pretty close to everyone pretty fast. They are like 5 languages spoken here. Portuguese, Italian, French, Russian and of course Spanish. Not going to lie Spanish is hard and I haven’t really learned much. My entire district and most of the missionaries going to Spain have had 4 years or more of Spanish. I am the only sister who really has no one idea what is going on most of the time. I hope you guys had a good Halloween, they don´t really celebrate Halloween on the 31st but on today it s like memorial day for us except they celebrate the dead and everything is decked out in Halloween stuff kind of weird! Hmmm I don´t really know what else there is to say.. I know if I sing called to serve one more time I might have a freak attack! How is everything going for you guys? Everything sounds like it is going great and I hope you all know I love you lots and pray for each one of you! I have had a little bit a time to read your guys emails and I am so proud that you are all having great experiences and especially missionary experiences. Bry and T I challenge you to go to the temple at least once a week. Mom dad jess and holt go to the temple at least once every other week. Little man.. I challenge you to read the book of Mormon every night before bed and every morning before school actually I challenge all of you to do that! Miss Quinci girl I challenge you to keep growing, keep being cute and keep bringing the awesome spirit you have and try not to give you parents too hard of time. I love you all very much and miss you more than you will ever know! I know I didn´t give much details but nothing really happens here just a lot of missionaries trying to be the best they can be.  XOXOXOX

Safe Arrival and First Email

Hola familia!!

Hi guys! I have arrived safe and sound in MADRID!!!  I am so tired and wow that was a long flight getting here, the first one wasn´t too bad but the second one is one heck of a plane ride! The plane rides were awful, you get no sleep and you cant do anything! Like i was super faithful and didn´t even listen to music.. KILL ME NOW! However the Elders and Sisters I came with are amazing! I am just grateful i get to be surrounded by them becuase already they have been lifting me up! In Netherlands airport we had a three hour lay over which i tried to sleep for most of it.. It is impossible when at home it is like 4 o clock there! But after that we pulled out our scriptures and we had a little scripture study and everyone kind of bore testimoney of the scriptures we just read. That was amazing, It is crazy the the spirit of the lord can be anyway and everywhere ifyou just invite it into your hearts. We read Alma 17:10 there is apart where the he asks the lord for comfort and he is given comfort it was just so sweet to know that everyone is going through the exact same thing i am.  Alma 42:31 is basically why we are out here.  Netherlands was beautiful although we had to walk through sercurity again and guys with huge machine guns everywhere it wa still pretty cool but Madrid is awesome! It is basically like utah.. looks like utah and it is brown. Except for the moutains and we have much cooler buliding over here too. I have this little book called missionary reminders and it says when going through customs and you have to declare something. Declare that gospel has been restored and this is the only true church. I lol´d hard on that one. However we didn´t go through customs.. It is a little different than i thought it was going to be, we got off the plane and no one was there to greet us so we walked around like lost sheep trying to see where they might be or who to call. After an hour finally two people from the MTC came and than we had to wait another hour for another set of missionaries. Lets just say already by patience has been tried! Finally we arrived at the MTC, got something to eat and now we are sitting here writing some emails! Luckily our actual mission doesn´t start till tomorrow THANK THE HEAVENS ABOVE because i am a freakin zombie right now. We get to unpack, shower, get dinner and hopefully get to bed a little eariler than i hope! Seriously people aren´t lying when they say the temple is right there. I am looking out at a giant beautiful white temple and man it is one of the coolest things i have ever seen! I am kind of dissappointed there was no welcoming group or anything like that but they said they weren´t excepting us.. I have no idea where everyone else is but hopefully tomorrow will make more sense! We have to meet with our MTC Presidenttonight on the door to where we meet they have all of our names on the door I am Elder Knell on there.. right on! Church is still true! I don´t think i have anymore to say and our time is almost up.. I will hopefully email this week also!! I love you all!! I hope everyone is doing well! Miss you lots!! Thank you for everything!! Look for your own missionary opportunies!
